Kalang Community Care is the leading Aboriginal-controlled Home Care provider in the Fraser Coast. We strive to provide high-quality care and community services to our local youths, Elders, and everybody in between.

About Us

Our vision is to empower the frail, aged and people with disabilities by providing quality services which meet individual needs and encourage positive ageing, empowerment and wellbeing. All service is in accordance with the principles of consumer directed care.

We aim to:

  • Promote care and respect for our elders

  • Encourage cultural revival and preservation

  • Ensure cultural sensitivity and appropriateness in service delivery

  • Support families to care for elders and other target clients within the community

  • Enhance our customer focus by working as a team and promoting the effective use of resource

  • Pursue positive and accountable relationships with our funding agencies and wider general community

  • Recognise that community members aged 50 years or over are considered elders in light of lower life expectancy of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
